Hi, I'm Erin.

As you might have guessed from all the pictures of me plastered across this website, I'm the human behind Bland to Bold. 

My story

Over my 13+ year journey from assistant editor to self-employed Fractional Director of Content, I've worn lots of hats including "head of content" and "Inc. 5000 marketing director." I've partnered with well-known brands like HubSpot, Drift, G2, Zapier, and monday.com — and lots of smaller startups, too. Along the way, I developed a unique approach to B2B content marketing and codified it as a signature framework and assessment.

 

My content philosophy

Every brand has a unique essence — an authentic, fundamental self. (You know, the "you" that your happiest customers, partners, and employees see.) Content should emphasize that essence. But unfortunately, lots of brands water themselves down or copy other brands they see as bold. And by doing so, they blend in.

To stand out, you must be willing to be yourself to a degree that others would not. 

My non-work side 

My best friends from business school joke that I'm their "hipster friend" because of my sleeve tattoos and unconventional interests. But I'm way too Type A for hipster life.

There's nothing I love more than traveling — and bringing my kiddos along for the ride. (We've been to eight countries this past year!)

My favorite things include spa treatments, oil painting, Halloween, street art, New Age woo woo shit, sitting in an outdoor hot tub in Vermont while the snow gently falls on my bare shoulders (yup, that's specific), and reading dystopian fiction beside a roaring fire.
